According to Eleanor Trett, a United States encryption journalist, the White House is preparing to publish its long-awaited comprehensive report on digital assets, marking the first time that the Trump Government has launched an important blueprint for encrypted monetary policy. The report will be officially released on Tuesday, 22 July, and will be made public “by the end of the month”, and Trett quotes a White House official on Monday, 21 July. She noted that the report had been issued after months of cross-sectoral coordination.
The report, co-chaired by Freedom David Sachs and Bo Heins, is a presidential digital assets working group aimed at responding to an executive order in January aimed at strengthening United States leadership in the field of encrypted money worldwide. Although the details are still limited, Trent reports mention that the document is expected to outline regulatory and legislative recommendations. Key expected elements include a potential national digital asset reserve framework and strategic bitcoin reserves (SBR).
According to Trett ' s sources, national security recommendations for illicit finance and sanctions evasion may also be included. The initial mandate of the Working Group also included the development of a federal currency stabilization framework, which had been achieved to a large extent through the Genius Act recently passed by Congress.
In addition, an independent journalist, L0laL33tz, in a report in The Rage, revealed that the response to a request under the Freedom of Information Act indicated that the United States bailiff currently held 28,988 BTCs, far below what the general public perceived to be government-controlled 198,012 BTCs. The SBR framework may provide some clarification on this issue and help the public understand this difference.
