The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, announced on April 22th through social media platform XMoneyThe strategic collaboration of the founder and former CEO Zhao Chang Peng (CZ) demonstrated Malaysia ' s desire to play a central role in the area of block chains and digital assets.

Anwar called the meeting “a fruitful one” and focused on the country's potential to become a regional centre for the digital economy. He stressed the importance of multi-agency cooperation in shaping Malaysia ' s innovation agenda. He wrote: “I welcome the continuation of discussions with the Securities Commission, the National Bank of Malaysia and the Ministry of Statistics, among others, to explore ways to promote and promote responsible innovation.”

During the talks, both sides explored initiatives that could accelerate the digital transition in Malaysia, particularly through the integration of block chains in the financial system. Anwar stressed the need for the Government to take the initiative and stated:

It is clear that government leadership is crucial in promoting the adoption of block chains, for example, through digitization and exploring the monetization of financial instruments and other use cases.
His remarks suggest that Malaysia is considering more progressive regulatory and policy frameworks to support monetization and related financial innovations. CZ subsequently confirmed the meeting and wrote on platform X: “Malaysia had a good discussion.” Despite his brevity, his message reinforced Malaysia ' s importance in the global block chain dialogue.

The Prime Minister of Malaysia concluded his statement with a forward-looking vision:

With the right steps, Malaysia could take the lead in this global digital transition.

This is not only a sign of national ambition, but also of Malaysia ' s desire to work with international partners to create an inclusive and regulated digital asset environment.

Outside Malaysia, CZ has met with leaders from several countries around the globe to promote the adoption of the block chain and provide guidance on the digital asset framework. Kyrgyzstan has recently cooperated with Zhao Chang Peng to upgrade the block chain and encryption infrastructure. He was also appointed strategic adviser to the Pakistan Encryption Commission. At the same time, the Encrypted Currency Exchange is advising Governments to establish strategic bitcoin reserves.
