According to the British Financial Times on 23 April, Governor Cantor Fitzgerald, Brandon Lutnick, is working with Soft Silver, Tether and Bitfinex to launch a $3 billion bitcoin purchase company.
According to the report, the joint venture was designed to create a listed company that could take advantage of the growing encryption market under the administration of President Donald Trump of the United States, reflecting the success of Michael Seller ' s firm Strategy.
The new company, 21 Capital, has secured $200 million from Cantor Equity Partners. In addition, Tether will contribute $1.5 billion bitcoin, soft silver will increase $900 million, Bitfinex will invest $600 million. The plan included an additional $350 million through convertible bonds and $200 million through private equity to purchase more bitcoin.
As part of the deal, Bitcoin investments in Tether, SoftBank and Bitfinex will be converted to 21 Capital shares. The value of the bitcoin will be locked at $85,000 per coin, while the price of the stock will be set at $10 per coin. However, the transaction is still ongoing and some details may change.
Cantor Fitzgerald has been active in encryption for many years. Since 2021, it has been operating Téther's Treasury and directly owns 5 per cent of the share of the stabilizer. It also entered the Bitcoin financing area with a $2 billion fund to promote agency financing with its digital assets.
