Circle, which issues USDC's second-largest stable currency, submitted today to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission an application for the first public equity (IPO) to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange with the code “CRCL”.

This was the second attempt by the company to be listed following the termination of a special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC) transaction in 2022.

The company reported that income and reserve income reached $1.7 billion in 2024, with a net profit of $156 million. This time, the IPO will include the new stock of Circle and some of the shares sold by existing shareholders.

Since its establishment in 2013, the USDC stabilization currency of Circle has been used for over $25 trillion in chain transactions.

According to CoinGecko, the market value of USDC was maintained at $60 billion. The USDT issued by Tether remains the largest stable currency at market value, currently valued at $143 billion.

Circle’s decision to seek public listing coincides with Washington’s growing clarity about its policy on the currency of stability.

Last week, the House of Representatives released the full text of the Stability Bill 2025, which was subsequently considered by the Senate.

The Government of President Donald Trump has also supported the currency of stability as a strategic tool for maintaining United States financial leadership, and the role of Trump and the Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Besent, in maintaining the dominance of the dollar has been highlighted.

On that basis, the Decentralized Finance (DeFi) project, supported by the Trump Government, World Liberty Financial announced plans to issue its own stabilization currency, further strengthening the active engagement of the White House in this area.
