In accordance with President Donald Trump ' s recent directive, the United States Treasury Department and other federal agencies are expected to make public on 5 April their holdings of bitcoin and other encrypted assets. In addition, it will be clear whether these numbers of assets will be incorporated into the national digital asset reserve of XRP, Solana and Cardano.

On 6 March, Trump signed an executive order establishing a strategic bitcoin reserve and a digital asset reserve. According to a presidential document issued on 11 March, all federal agencies are required to report to the Minister of Finance their holdings of bitcoin and other digital assets within 30 days of the issuance of the order. At the same time, the Minister of Finance was requested to establish two offices to manage the Government ' s digital assets. The strategic bitcoin reserve will be dedicated to the storage of bitcoin obtained through criminal or civil confiscation and will not sell bitcoin, which is intended to be stored as a “digitNoxburger” for long-term value.

The Chief Executive Officer of BTC Inc., David Bailey, believed that the audit findings might shed light on the reasons for the recent price fluctuations in Bitcoin. Despite the announcement of strategic bitcoin reserves, the price of bitcoin continued to fall, from over $92,000 to around $82,000, as a result of the effects of trade wars and concerns about the recession, with about 10 per cent falling since its inception.

According to Arkham Intelligence, the United States Government currently holds approximately 198,012 bitcoin, valued at approximately $16 billion. According to David Sachs, a White House encryption consultant, the Government has confiscated approximately 400,000 bitcoin over the past decade through both civil and criminal assets. However, about half of them, or 195,000 bitcoins, had been sold, generating $366 million in income. If the Government retained all 400,000 bitcoins, their current value would exceed $17 billion.
