Pi Network recently reminded the main node operator who had not yet done so to update the software to Protocol v25 as soon as possible, otherwise the connection to the main network could be lost. The projecter indicated that most of the main nodes had been upgraded and that the process was similar to previous agreements and usually took only a few minutes.
Most nodes have been upgraded
The bulletin shows that this update is for Pi Network Mainnet node operators. According to the project core team, most of the main network nodes are currently switched to v25, and those operators that have not yet been upgraded should be processed as soon as possible to maintain normal connectivity.
Pi Network did not announce the final deadline for the upgrade, but made it clear that delays in updating could result in the nodes being disconnected from the network. Technical notes on the upgrading process were also provided.
Node is divided into three types of participation
Pi Network 's nodal mechanism is not based on the usual workload proof model in bitcoin, but is based on Stellar Consensus Protocol. The nodes form a validation pool through a trust relationship, on which the transaction is agreed.
- Computer App: Provide a desktop-end interface to view balances and use chat functions
- Node: Participation in block chain validity and submission of transactions after screening
- SuperNode: taking on core network validation tasks requiring long-term online and stable networks
Node filter linked to KYC
The projecters stated that the selection of Node and SuperNode was based on a number of conditions, including online hours, network quality, processor and memory configurations, community contributions and confidence ratings based on the safety circle.
The selected applicant will also have to complete the KYC before formally joining the network and assuming the corresponding responsibilities. This upgrade means that Pi Network is continuing to promote the harmonization of the main node version to reduce the impact of the old node on network operations.
