Moneygram is moving the block chain from the product layer to the network infrastructure layer. The company has become a Ssolana web certifier and joined Solana Devloper Platform to become directly involved in the processing of transactions and the maintenance of network security in this common chain.
From payment applications to network operations
Certifying officers are the core players in the interest certification network and are responsible for pledging tokens, processing transactions, certifying blocks and maintaining network operations. Moneygram states that the company will now pledge SOL, process block transactions and participate in network security at the protocol level.
This means that Moneygram no longer only uses block chains to provide payment services, but is also directly involved in the operation of the bottom “orbit”. Luke Tuttle, director of the company ' s products and technology, stated that Moneygram wanted to make different forms of money transfers smoother in the user ' s scene.
Moneygram states that the block chain and the stable currency infrastructure have been used for many years in its financial management, product development and payment operations, and that this go-live certifier is an extension of the previous layout.
Synchronize access to Solana development platform
In addition to being a certifier, Moneygram joined Solana Devloper Platform. The platform, launched in March this year by Solana Foundation, provides institutions with API and infrastructure tools to help businesses develop financial products on Solana.
According to the original version, the platform integrated more than 20 Solana ecological infrastructure service providers and was designed to support the AI scene. Institutions that had previously been involved in the development of the platform included Mastercard, Western Union and Worldpay.
The entry of Moneygram, which demonstrates the interest of traditional payment companies in chain settlement and stabilization of currency payments, is further extending from pilot products to the development of tools and bottom nodes.
The stabilization currency has become a corporate priority.
Before this announcement, Moneygram launched the US dollar stabilization currency on the Stellar block chain on June 2nd. The company plans to access the stable currency to its own mobile application, allowing users to hold the United States dollar balance in their own custodial wallets and to transfer it through its global payment network.
From the roll-out of a self-stable currency to becoming a Solana certifier, Moneygram shows that the block chain infrastructure is being integrated into the core of its future payment operations and is no longer a subsidiary technology.
The payment industry has also accelerated similar layouts in recent years. In the original version, it was mentioned that Western Union had launched USDPT on Solana; PayPal had previously launched PYUSD and connected it to the remittance service Xoom; and Sendwave under the Zepz flag had also provided cross-border transfer services in conjunction with Solana and USDC.
Meaning of Solana
Moneygram has over 6 million active customers worldwide and covers nearly half a million retail outlets. For Solana, attracting such large payment agencies to operate certifications directly contributes to greater institutional participation and may also enhance long-term expectations of their financial services landscape.
It was also mentioned that with Western Union ' s previous involvement in the Solana network, two large remittance companies have now advanced their operations along the chain. Competing with payment companies is also extending from user-oriented applications to bottom-up settlements and network infrastructure.
