The Etherwood Foundation has again become the focus of community discussions. The Co-Executive Director, Wang Shui, resigned from his managerial position and returned to his research post. This change occurred during the ongoing restructuring of the Foundation and brought renewed attention to its management and future positioning.
A lot of people left for almost five months.
CoinDesk refers to the public information that at least eight senior members of the ETA Foundation have left in the past five months. Wang Shuvi is the last person to leave management. She had been one of the two co-executive directors appointed by the Foundation following its reorganization last year.
This Swiss-based non-profit organization has long been responsible for coordinating ETA research, development and ecological projects. Community discussions on governance, organizational culture and implementation capacity within the Foundation are again on the rise with successive changes in personnel.
CROPS Unsolved Challenge
The Foundation had previously launched a new strategic framework called “CROPS”, which covered the principles of code punk values, resilience, open source, licensing and security. The management described it as a further clarification of the Foundation ' s mission and a desire to reaffirm the core values of the Taifaf in a more ecologically decentralized context.
However, this framework does not dispel external doubts. Some critics argue that the problem is not conceptual but managerial implementation. According to Dankrad Feist, a former Japanese researcher, X, those who recently left the Foundation were not opposed to CROPS, but rather were themselves supporters in this direction, so the brain drain was more of a management problem.
The role of the foundation is discussed again.
There is no consensus among communities around the change. Some felt that successive departures undermined the Fund ' s accumulated experience and could affect the efficiency of the promotion of the ETA in an environment of increased competition. According to another group, this is precisely a reflection of the shift in Ether's responsibilities from a single institution to a broader development, DAO and independent organizations.
According to DDCinvestor, a member of the Taifeng community, the research and development functions of the Foundation should be separated from the ecological development functions in the future and coordinated closer to the structure of the industry alliance. In his view, the current arrangements, in some cases, would lead to disharmony and affect the pace at which the agreement would advance.
It was also noted that the Foundation was part of the evolution of governance by reducing its scope and increasing its focus. According to this view, the gradual out-migration of financial support and ecological maintenance does not necessarily mean a crisis, but rather a manifestation of continued deepening of governance with the decentrization of the Taifung.
