Anthropic under flag model Fable 5 may be approaching recovery. The newly exposed Claude Code installation package shows that the model will be used in the future or will be converted from a separate fee to a subscription line and reset on a week-by-week basis.

New hint for installation package

Decrypt states that it verified the relevant string in Claude Code 2.1.190. There is a hint in the installation package, such as “You have exhausted the Fable 5 usage limit” this week, and the expression “must be purchased separately from the set” appears to have been removed.

The leak was first disclosed by X user synthwavedd. Decrypt indicates that the media downloads the MacOS Apple Sil version of the installation package and extracts the relevant text from the executable. One of the elements indicates that the user will consume usage credits after using the Fable 5-week limit contained in the subscription.

Subscription mode or change to weekscale

If these strings correspond to the final product option, Fable 5 may no longer be sold as a stand-alone addition in the future, but will be incorporated directly into the existing subscription plan. For users, this is more like an automatic weekly recovery, rather than an additional single purchase.

However, a change in the code does not in itself mean that the product will go online immediately. Similar interface case files often appear in-house or in-production versions weeks or months before their official release, and therefore it is still not possible to confirm the specific recovery time.

Another sign of market interest comes from Amazon Bedrock. According to the user, Fable 5 is already on the platform 's model directory and the page display is provided by Anthropic. This has further raised the expectations of the outside world for its imminent return.

Communication with the White House has receded recently.

Fable 5 is one of the Mythos models that Anthropic has publicly launched. On 12 June, the Trump Government issued an emergency export control directive on the grounds that the escape breach involved national security, after which the model was removed from line.

Anthropic then complied with the request but contested the seriousness of the issue. Companies believe that other models in the market may reproduce similar risks without circumventing restrictions.

The report also mentioned that communication between Anthropic and the White House around Fable 5 had recently eased. According to Wired, Anthropic has been taken over by the co-founder, Tom Brown, instead of CEO Dario Amodei. Brown has been meeting with Howard Lutnick, United States Minister of Commerce, and Sean Cairncross, Director of the National Network since mid-June.

Discussions are currently focused on the establishment of a common set of criteria for assessing AI ' s escape from prison, which will be used to distinguish between those gaps that may be identified as national security risks. Trump also stated last week that he no longer considered Anthropic a national security threat.
