The founder of Binance, Zhao Chang Peng (CZ), recently interviewed CoinDesk about his arrangements for returning to the United States, his views on Binance.US, and his vision of the U.S. encryption market. CZ indicated that he hoped that the United States market would become stronger and that it would become an important centre for the encryption industry.
The American Market and Binance.US
CZ states that Binance.US remains one of his focused operations. While he is not involved in day-to-day operations, he hopes that the United States trading platform will in the future be more fully linked to the mobility of the Binance Global Platform to enhance local market competitiveness.
He discussed the idea in a larger context, namely, that the United States needed a stronger market infrastructure, a clearer regulatory environment and more efficient liquidity support if it was to take the lead in digital assets.
The 2026 market Fall Back
For the weakness of the encryption market in 2026, the CZ mentioned several reasons: partial diversion of funds to AI-related tracks, geopolitical events disturbing risk preferences, and the encryption market itself is still experiencing common four-year cycle fluctuations.
- Some funds to AI theme
- The geo-situation suppresses risk preferences
- The impact of the four-year cycle continues
Said he didn't want to run the exchange anymore.
CZ also indicated that it did not wish to run an encrypted exchange directly again. He was more inclined to participate as an informal consultant in a number of companies that had invested in it than to return to front-line operations.
CZ stated that one of his objectives in Washington was to clarify some misunderstandings about himself and Binance. At the same time, he states that the case did not damage his reputation.
