AI programming tool is continuing from desktop scenes to mobile phones. Cursor announced the launch of the iOS application on 29 June, which allows users to schedule programming agents directly on their mobile phones and to follow up on tasks already started by the desktop end.

This application continues the direction of Cursor's product after the release of version 2.0 last October. On the other hand, Cursor began to shift its focus to a more independent programming agent rather than just providing code completion or editing aids.
When the mobile end is on line, the user can either create a new programming agent or view and continue to interact with the existing agent, so that part of the operation does not have to go back to the computer.
OpenAI and Anthropic are on it.
Cursor's actions are not isolated. Anthropic and OpenAI have also been introducing mobile-end applications to enable users to access their own programming tools on their mobile phones.
This reflects a common change in the AI programming product: the tool is moving from “direct writing code” to “managing code writing agents”, and more users are assigning tasks, tracking progress and adjusting results.
Cell phones become a continuous interface.
It was mentioned that, as such tools reduced reliance on large local cod libraries, some developers began to weaken the importance of a multi-screen desktop environment and instead maintained an ongoing dialogue with remotely operated agents via mobile phones.
The director of Claude Code in Anthropic, Boris Cherny, recently indicated that most of his programming is now on his cell phone. This shows that competition for the AI programming tool is extending from model capabilities to the use of access and interactive frequencies.
