MetaMask introduces a new feature called Money Account, which places stable currency proceeds, payments and transactions in the same self-hosted wallet balance. The product is deployed in the Monad block chain, open to most global users, but is not supported by the United Kingdom and some of the restricted areas.
Initial access to Monad and mUSD
This feature uses the metaMask last year's roll-out stabilized money. After the user opens, you can obtain Money Account directly from the MetaMask mobile end and charge the account by moving to an existing encrypted asset or a French entry channel.
MetaMask states that the choice of Monad is based on a more multi-chained view of transaction costs, speed and use experience. The first revenue strategy is connected to Morpho, and Aave is expected to join later.
Proceeds from DeFi Loan Agreements
Money Account provides a maximum of 4 per cent of annualized earnings. MetaMask describes the separation of 1:1 of mUSD reserve assets from revenue generation mechanisms.
Of these, Bridge holds reserve assets supporting the mUSD, mainly in United States dollars and short-term United States Treasury debt; funds deposited by users in Money Account are distributed through Veda’s treasury infrastructure to DeFi lending agreements such as Aave, Morpho. Benefits after deduction of costs are consistently recorded in the user account balance.
- Rate of return: maximum floating 4% ASY
- Launch protocol: Morpho
- Follow-up plan: Aave is expected to join
In addition to earning income, users can also consume funds through MetaMask Card ' s direct account. MetaMask shows that wallet products are moving further from mere currency and trade instruments to daily financial entry to cover savings, payments and borrowing.
Stable currency gains products still face regulatory debate
At a time when MetaMask had launched the service, regulatory discussions continued in the United States around stable currency-earning products. In February this year, the U.S. Monetary Supervisory Authority proposed a set of rules for the implementation of GENIUS Act, which may limit the third-party stabilization currency incentive scheme.
By April, the White House Committee of Economic Advisers had found that the prohibition of stable currency gains had a limited impact on lending by community banks, a judgement that was inconsistent with the warnings of some banking groups. Since then, legislative negotiations have been under way on the question of whether an encrypted enterprise can provide benefits to stabilizers.
MetaMask management indicated that the company wanted to make the product a tool closer to the day-to-day banking experience, but did not define itself as a financial service provider. Its longer-term objective is to enable users to complete transactions, earn income and make daily payments, while maintaining their trust.
