The shared travel company Lime completed its first public collection, raising $167 million. This time, the listed counterpart valued about US$ 16.66 billion, ending its years of listing preparations.

Lime presented a listing plan as early as 2021. At that time, after completing its $523 million financing, management had indicated that it was considering moving forward with IPO in 2022. By 2023, companies also claimed to be waiting for more suitable market windows.

Raised mainly to cover liabilities

Lime submitted a stock call paper in May this year, stating that the company ' s ability to continue is under considerable pressure and that it needs to rely on IPO fund-raising to cover approximately $1 billion in liabilities, more than half of which will expire before the end of the year. The company also stated at the time that if it was unable to complete the listing, it would need to find alternative sources of financing.

This also reflects the business pressure that the micro-movement industry has been under in recent years. The peer Bird applied for insolvency protection and reorganization after listing, while the other competitors had mergers, exits or closures.

Income continues to grow and losses remain.

In spite of the industry environment, Lime ' s income has increased in recent years. The company received $521 million in 2023, rising to $686.6 million in 2024 and further to $886.7 million in 2025.

  • Received $521 million in 2023
  • Revenues increased to $686.6 million in 2024
  • In 2025, the recovery rose to $886.7 million.

However, the company ' s losses have not been completely eliminated. The net loss of Lime in 2023 was $122.3 million, narrowed to $33.9 million in 2024, but recovered to $59.3 million in 2025.

Global expansion underpins growth

Lime's growth is mainly due to international expansion. The company now operates in 29 countries and 230 cities, and its business coverage continues to expand.

However, the company still relies on Uber. Uber holds 24 per cent of Lime shares and provides Lime car reservation services in some municipalities through its own applications. In 2025, Uber contributed more than 14 per cent of Lime's income.
