The new not-for-profit organization Etheneum Institute, supported by Joe Lubin, Bitmine Immersion Technologies and SharpLink, was launched on Wednesday with the aim of providing a interface for traditional financial players, such as banks, regulatory institutions, and promoting the use of Etherwood-related infrastructure.

In its mission statement, the organization stated that it would provide more explicit communication and landing support to institutions wishing to participate in the financial infrastructure of monetization, currency stabilization and other chains. Its location is independent, but it will take over from institutional cooperation previously facilitated in part by the Etherak Foundation.

The money comes from the Ether House supporters.

Othereum Informational states that funds will come mainly from Bitmine and SharpLink. The two companies are known as the larger Etherwood Treasury participants in Wall Street's publicly listed enterprises. Joe Lubin, co-founder of the ETA, will also provide core funding support to the organization, with dozens of institutions and individuals involved.

Just a week ago, another Etherlabs non-profit organization was launched. It was initiated by researchers from the former Taifung Foundation and focused on research and development, with a high degree of overlap between supporters and Etheum Institute.

There's a difference between the two agencies.

The two new arrangements, according to interested parties, should be directed to the next phase of the Taifeng: one focusing on the innovation of the protocol layer and the core infrastructure, and the other targeting institutional clients to help them move from assessment to mass deployment.

Following this position, it is more like an external interface for Wall Street, with a focus not on development at the bottom, but on institutional communication, use of propulsion and business landings.

Etherwood Foundation.

At the time of these two new initiatives, the Etherfrog Foundation is facing increased pressure. Over the past few years, the Foundation has been leading the development of network technology, but has recently been subject to continued criticism from the outside world to question its lack of action to improve ETH market performance and public image.

In recent months, several heads of the Foundation have left. Last week, the agency reduced its staff by about 20 per cent and initiated a larger restructuring.

At the same time, some of those who have been key players in the Foundation have publicly proposed the “Save the Ether Workshop” programme, advocating for the use of more funds to improve the long-term weak price performance of ETH. These statements are widely viewed as indirect pressure on Vitalik Buterin’s current governance thinking.

Overall, with the creation of new institutions, the division of labour around “who drives the institution and who leads future development” in the ETA is becoming clearer.
