Standard Chartered Bank, in collaboration with Circle, goes online to the USDC requisition and foreclosure service for institutional clients. The service was first provided through a slag-tucking branch at the Dubai International Finance Centre, with the goal of connecting the French-currency banking system, the block chain network and the digital asset infrastructure to the same set of institutional banking processes.

No need to open a Circle account directly

This service allows institutional clients to use USDC without directly opening a Circle account. Related access is embedded in the existing institutional banking infrastructure, which customers can use through a single account opening and maintenance process.

The programme was positioned as a stable currency access service in a banking management environment, emphasizing compliance, governance and risk management requirements in line with traditional banking standards.

Coverage of settlement and fund management scenarios

As disclosed by scum, the platform places French currency accounts, chain networks and digital asset capabilities in the same system to facilitate the transfer of funds between traditional financial and digital asset markets.

  • Supporting chain settlement
  • Support for enterprise financial management
  • Support for liquidity management

Slag also indicated that services would be expanded to a broader payment function, in line with market demand.

First phase of Dubai

The first phase of the service is open to eligible clients, with access to the Dubai International Finance Centre branch. Scum stated that this arrangement would further strengthen the position of the UAE as a regulated digital asset centre.

Scum saw this as the first step in a wider international expansion. Subsequent access to additional markets will depend on local regulatory approvals and market readiness.

Institutional demand for access facilitation

This cooperation also reflects the increased demand by enterprises and financial institutions for a compliance and stabilization currency infrastructure. The stabilization currency is being used more for payment, settlement, liquidity management and participation in the digital asset market.

Roberto Hornweg, Director of Slags and Investment Banks, said that digital assets were becoming part of the global financial infrastructure and that institutional clients wanted to gain trust and governance standards in that area that were close to traditional banking.

Circle Chief Commercial Officer Kash Razzaghi stated that the agency was looking for a more reliable and compliant way to use the stable currency. When the regulated infrastructure is connected to a mature banking platform, the agency may, subject to the maintenance of compliance requirements, pay, settle and operate USDC.
