The President of Ripple, Monica Long, stated that the company was positioning XRP Ledger (XRPL) as a core block chain for agency-oriented payments, while expanding the use of XRP and RLUSD globally. Corporate disclosures suggest that this direction is no longer limited to cross-border payments but extends to the broader institutional financial infrastructure.

Join OpenUSD Scheme

Long's statement appears after Ripple joined OpenUSD. The project, which is governed by the Alliance and involves more than 140 finance and technology companies, aims to improve the efficiency of the connectivity between global payment networks. Ripple was one of the first integrated partners.

She said that the future global payment system would be a multi-chain, parallel and interoperable structure rather than a fragmented network. Banks, payment service providers and financial science and technology companies need to transfer value between different block chains, taking into account compliance, security and processing efficiency.

Clear division of XRP and RLUSD

According to Ripple, RLUSD is not intended to replace XRP, but is used in conjunction with XRP. While RLUSD is primarily responsible for stabilizing the settlement of assets, XRP continues to act as a bridging liquid asset to service the transfer and payment scene on XRPL.

  • RLUSD for stabilization settlement
  • XRP for bridge mobility
  • Common services pay for both

Institutional finance as a priority direction

According to Ripple, with the increased use of regulated stabilizers and more institutions deploying monetized assets on XRPL, both RLUSD and XRP could benefit from increased chain activity and volume of transactions. It also means that the GRPL is being pushed to business finance, asset monetization and cross-border settlement.

Long indicated that interoperability would be an important condition for enterprises to adopt block chains. Ripple emphasizes that the next generation of digital payment infrastructure will rely more on regulated digital assets and on bottom networks that can connect multiple chains.

Additional information:The OpenUSD project is now supported by more than 140 financial and technological companies, Ripple being one of the first providers of access, which has further moved its role in the institutional stability network.
