Whip Media announces that it will shut down the TV Times and shift the focus of operations to AI products. The company indicated that the free model was no longer sustainable and that there was insufficient demand for fee conversion. TV Time will also be removed from the app store on July 15th.
Increased operating costs
According to the company, the cost of maintaining this free application is excessive. TV Time, once one of the larger video-player communities, has been installed over 26 million times, with nearly 29,000 new downloads in the last 30 days.
Data operations have supported applications
Under the Whip Media flag, TV Time is not just a follow-up tool for consumers. The application of collected data has been used to support data analysis operations in the media industry, which is also an important reason for its persistence.
Resources to AI products
Whip Media has shifted its focus in recent months to more AI-oriented operations. When the company's new owner, Blue Torch Capital, entered, it promoted its focus AI Automation and Workstream Management tool, Helix, for streaming media analysis and supply chain coordination.
User data will be deleted
Whip Media indicates that after the end of TV Time, the data will no longer be used for any commercial service and user personal data will be deleted. Users can download their data from the export tool that matches GDPR before the lower shelf.
