A security researcher, Ronald Lovelace, said to Cyberscop that the wrong pages of two websites had been implanted with political text. The page attacked Trump and referred to the United States Ambassador to Turkey, Tom Barrack, along with expressions such as “free Kurdistan”.
The military has yet to explain how the invasion took place.
As of Monday, these manipulations were still visible. When Cyberscop contacted the U.S. Army, the page was removed. The United States Army did not explain how the wrong page was modified, nor did it disclose the existence of a wider system intrusion.
It is mentioned that these websites appear to operate on WordPress and rely on multiple plugins. If there are loopholes in such components, they could be an entry point for an attack. However, there is no evidence that the incident involved data leakage.
