Bitcoin mining company TerraWulf is accelerating its transition to AI infrastructure operations. After the company announced AI capital cooperation related to Anthropic, stock prices rose by about 5 per cent in NASDAQ, and the market began to pay more attention to the commercialization of its data centres and power resources.

Following the halving of Bitcoin last year, mining revenues were under pressure, and more and more companies turned power capacity and room space to AI computing hosting. Long-term hosting contracts often provide a more stable cash flow than mining operations, which also serves as an important basis for the re-valuation of mining companies.

Sale of joint venture equity in Texas

TeraWulf also announced the sale of 50.1 per cent of its equity in Abernathy ' s joint venture at the Texas data centre. The buyer ' s share was valued at approximately $530 million on behalf of the consortium led by the collaborator Fluidstack.

The company stated that the transaction would help it to recover about $450 million in capital at a premium and release more funds for the expansion of data centre assets held directly by the company.

AI Increase in business weights

TeraWulf did not completely withdraw from bitcoin mining. The company still retains mining operations, but the market ' s focus on its valuation may be changing. AI ' s position in the corporate revenue structure is likely to continue to rise as the number of contracts and other hosting agreements related to Anthropic increases.

Mining accelerates the shift to AI

This move is also consistent with the general trend of the mining sector since this year. It was reported that, as of March 2026, bitcoin mining companies had accumulated over 15 million BTCs and had signed AI contracts totalling over $70 billion.

In contrast to TerraWulf ' s stock price rise, Bitcoin fell to $61,900 the previous day and then went back to $63,300. It was also mentioned that Strategy disclosed the sale of 3,588 bitcoins, with a cash balance of approximately $216 million, up from 32 sold a few weeks ago.
