Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh stated at the annual ECB Forum in Sintra, Portugal, that the US inflation risk had receded and that the Fed would remain committed to the 2% inflation target. Following the speech, Bitcoin fell in part before it recovered, re-rising to the vicinity of $60,000.

CoinDesk data show that bitcoin has risen by more than 2 per cent over the past 24 hours, at a price approaching $60,000, the latest of which is approximately $59,668. The market was under pressure a long time ago, but after the Warsh speech, the drop was markedly narrow.

Federal Reserve Decline Interest Rate Path Guide
Warsh did not give a clear forecast of the next interest rate decision. He indicated that policymakers would continue to assess new data over the next four weeks and discuss them at the next meeting. He stressed that the current focus remained on restoring price stability than on early release of road signals.
He added that if certain communication tools hindered policy judgement, they should be abandoned. This is in line with recent statements by major central banks to reduce their unequivocal commitment to the path of future interest rates and to explain more about the basis for their decisions.
AI is considered a supply side variable
In addition to inflation and interest rates, Warsh referred to the impact of artificial intelligence on the United States economy. He said that the AI boom was driving up capital spending, which was now more demand-side, but could expand the supply capacity of the United States economy in the future.
The meeting was attended by European Central Bank President Lagarde, British Central Bank President Bailey and Canadian Central Bank President McLem. Several central bank officials generally supported the reduction of clear forward-looking guidance, and the market continued to be concerned about the impact of follow-up data on the policy tempo.
