There was a new round of adjustments at Coinbase management. The company disclosed that Paul Grewal, the Chief Justice, would leave his post at the end of the month and would then be transferred as a consultant and continue to serve as Director of the Coinbase National Trust Company.

On social platform X, Grewal stated that his six-year term in Coinbase was coming to an end, and thanked the Chief Executive Officer, Brian Armstrong, the President and Chief Operator, Emilie Choi, and Board members.

During his tenure, he was involved in a number of key matters in Coinbase, including promoting company listing, addressing legal disputes with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and cooperating with the company in relocating its legal headquarters from Delaware to Texas.

He has also been involved in the United States encryption legislation communication, involving GENIUS Act and the proposed CIATY Act. Both bills revolve around the clarity of rules governing digital assets.

Molly Abraham took over as General Counsel

With the departure of Grewal, Molly Abraham will succeed Coinbase as General Counsel. Grewal stated that Abraham had been working with him for more than five years on the most important legal matters in the company and was ready to take over the team.

The company also announced that Ryan Van Grack would serve as Vice-Chairman. In line with the new division of labour, he will communicate with Governments, regulators and industry partners around the globe to advance Coinbase ' s regulatory relationship and international expansion.

Policy team continues to advance regulatory communication

Coinbase ' s global policy team, which will remain under the responsibility of Faryar Shirzad, will focus on continuing to establish links with government and regulatory bodies to promote a clearer regulatory environment for encryption.

Conbase is still actively involved in the United States encryption policy discussions at the time of this personnel adjustment and continues to promote institutional adoption and compliance framework development. In terms of existing arrangements, the corporate law, policy and external regulatory communication functions have been redistributed to maintain continuity of work.
