United States Senator Cynthia Loomis indicated that the Senate version of the CLARITY Bill was nearing submission. She hoped that the encrypted market structure bill would be put to a vote before the August recess, but only about four weeks were currently available for Congress, with a marked acceleration of the pace.

For a vote in late July.

Lumis chairs the Senate Subcommittee on Digital Assets. She stated that the team had been dealing with the text of the bill on an almost daily basis for the past 10 months and that the relevant draft would be presented in the next few days and would then enter the last legislative window before the recess.

According to her, the more likely point is July 20th, the week. However, the formal scheduling of the Senate vote remains dependent on the arrangements of the Senate majority leader, John Tun.

Trump's currency is at issue.

One of the greatest current resistance is that the Democratic Party wants the Republicans to make a clear statement about ethical limitations on digital assets. Such provisions may directly touch the encoded assets of Trump and make it more difficult to form a unified position within the Republican party.

Lumis stated that the State Attorney General should not be allowed to prosecute federal officials for digital assets. She also mentioned that blind trust could still be a compromise solution. As to whether there would be provisions against the Trump individual, she believed that legislation should not be built around a single individual.

When asked whether it was possible to use the veto if the bill was clearly directed against Tripp herself, Lumis said that she could understand that response if the bill did indeed come at him.

The Senate's schedule has tightened further.

In addition to the ethical controversy, the Senate's agenda for the coming weeks has been tight. The report mentions that some senators are expected to travel to South Carolina next weekend to attend Lindsay Graham's funeral, which could further reduce Washington's legislative time.

At the same time, the arrangements for filling the seats of the Democratic Party around the United States Securities Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission were seen as important factors affecting cross-party support. If the appointment continues to be delayed, it will be more difficult to secure 60 votes in the Senate.

  • The bill was drafted for approximately 10 months
  • The window available before recess is about 4 weeks
  • Loomis expects to advance on July 20th.
