Google is building an AI image into a search product. When the search system does not find a suitable picture on the web page, the user can enter a hint directly in the search bar and generate a picture from AI on the outcome page without jumping to an external tool.
Directly generate pictures in search pages
This feature will appear in Search 's AI Overviews. Google's approach is to add an immediate generation capacity to the existing web-page picture when it does not meet the search needs, turning the original “undetected” scene into “directly handing out a picture”.
This means that, in the past, users may need to go to the independent mapping tool, to the library site or to the creative platform, and that in the future, some of them will remain in Google to do so.
Model priority speed and cost
As currently organized by Google, the image generation capacity places greater emphasis on speed and cost efficiency rather than pursuing higher quality. According to the article, this was not a temporary trade-off, but a product design for the search scene.
In the search environment, users usually look more at whether response is fast enough. A high-precision, but longer-duration, yields a return of available images in seconds, more consistent with the logic of the search product.
- The first round will start in the next few weeks.
- Initial support for English only

Google Pages Synchronize
In addition to searching for the graphics of the results page, Google is adjusting the Google Images front page. Instead of focusing on static search portals, the first page of the new edition will be replaced by a visual interface closer to the content stream.
According to the article description, the new page presents real-time photo content from the network and individualizes recommendations in relation to user past searches and record-keeping. The user can also save the picture to a different collection and switch it to the top of the page.
The revision will be launched first on the United States desktop in the same language as English. The new personalization feature requires login of Google accounts.
Impact on external website traffic
This adjustment may also further affect the flow of photographs from Google from external websites. Photo searches continue to be an important entry point for access to photo sites, libraries, media and creative institutions.
If a user can get an AI image available on the search page, the need to jump to an external site will decrease. According to the article, this is similar to the flow concerns generated by the text version AI Overviews, which leaves more needs in Google’s own products.
In terms of product orientation, both the internal map search and the re-version of the front page point to the same goal: to allow users to complete the search, browse and preservation within Google, rather than continue to flow to other websites.
