A bitcoin wallet of more than eight years' sleep has recently turned out 5,908 BTCs, amounting to approximately $383 million at current prices. The chain data indicate that the funds were transferred to a new address and not to known exchanges.
Transfer details
According to the link analysis platform Lookonchain quotes Arkham data, this address transfers all balances out on Wednesday night. The original currency held dates back to December 2017, when the price of bitcoin was about $16,800.
This BTC was worth about $99.6 million at the time. By October 2025, when bitcoin had reached a high point of over $122,000, the hold had risen to about $726 million.
Where the money is going.
A chain analysis of CoinDesk shows that the bitcoins were transferred to a new, unmarked address rather than a known exchange filling address. There is currently no evidence in the chain that the funds were sold immediately.
It was also mentioned that the asset had been transferred from the old address beginning with “1” to the SegWit address beginning with “bc1q”. This is sometimes used by large holders to upgrade their wallet format, adjust their hosting or prepare off-site transactions.
The whale's movement is being monitored.
Prior to the transfer, the market was already tracking the movement of another sleeping wallet. CryptoQuant also indicated that the blubber-scale fill still dominates the inflow of bitcoin exchanges.
The agency gave exchange whale radio, recently 0.99, which means that the top 10 large transfers account for almost all exchange money. Historically, such readings have often been associated with higher sales pressure expectations.
