DoorDash starts testing a list of commands for developers to try to access the AI agent further. According to company disclosures, this tool can be used to search for businesses, find concessions and close accounts, and developers need not rely entirely on DoorDash 's own App interface.
Open to American and Caribbean developers
The tool, called dd-cli, is currently open for applications in the form of limited tests. DoorDash co-founder and CTO Andy Fang on platform X indicated that MacOS developers in the United States and Canada could apply for access through an alternate list.
From the public information, this is not a simple demonstration project. DoorDash is splitting up its own down-list capability to enable developers to access their own software or services, which is then called by AI.

This means that, in the future, developers can build their own snacks, buy food or local preferential discovery tools around DoorDash's distribution network, or they can connect these capabilities to more sophisticated proxy workflows.

This test also reflects DoorDash's continuing investment in the direction of an agent. In addition to the command line tool, DoorDash has attempted to provide services through iMessage and has launched its own AI chat robot Ask DoorDash.
At the same time, DoorDash is opening up service capabilities to external AI chat products, including ChatGPT in OpenAI and Claude in Anthropic. The application form for the new tool also requires the developer to indicate what products are to be developed on the basis of the tool, if qualified for testing.
