Google announces on Thursday an update of Google Vids to add a new personal digital person and a stronger video-generated editing function. Users can upload their own videos and sound recordings, creating a digital image of their appearance and voice.
This update also introduced Gemini Omni into Vids. Users can generate video with text alerts and reference pictures, and the system combines these inputs to complete the picture. It also supports the replacement of background, the adaptation of lights and the addition of special effects.
More detailed video editing
Omni also added a step-by-step editing function. Users can gradually modify the content during the production process without having to redo it from scratch.
From office tools to video platform
Google states that Vids was originally oriented towards the work scene and was suitable for a company update and training video. With the addition of personal digitals and dialogue editors, the product has also begun to come closer to an integrated AI video creation platform and to compete more directly with tools such as HeyGen, Syrnthesia, Captions, D-ID.
Account binding and access restrictions
Google states that the individual digital person binds the image of the account holder and uses Syndid to mark invisible water. This function is open only to users who have reached the age of 18 years in some areas.
