According to Reuters, United States federal employees have been able to download TikTok again on government equipment, citing a memorandum from the United States Department of Justice. This means that the restrictions on official equipment were adjusted in 2022, and it remains for the agencies to decide whether or not to allow the installation.
The Ministry of Justice stated that the restrictions were no longer applicable
Reports indicate that the law adopted in 2022 prohibited federal employees from using the short video application on government equipment. The United States Department of Justice is now of the view that this restriction is no longer applicable because TikTok has changed the ownership structure of United States operations.
TikTok United States business transferred to the new joint venture
According to reports, TikTok United States business has been transferred to a new joint venture company supported by Oracle, Silver Lake and MGX. Oracle in one of those countries acted as a security partner for the new company, and the byte beat retained 19.9 per cent of the shares.

According to a memorandum from the Ministry of Justice, President Trump has approved the download of TikTok from official equipment by “employees of the executive branch”, provided that the agencies concerned are discretionary and in accordance with existing workplace policy.
The United States had previously imposed restrictions on federal employees and government equipment, and subsequently extended the ban to a wider range. Only when the relevant law came into force at the beginning of last year, TikTok was only briefly offline, and Trump subsequently postponed implementation several times and asked service providers to resume access.
