Kraken began to provide Bitcoin and Taig options in Kraken Pro, with the first products being settled in United States dollars and first online through RFQ. The company disclosed that the business was currently open to selected eligible international clients and was not covering Europe, North America and Australia, and that the European market would follow suit.
Initial go-live BTC and ETH options
This product is a European option and is settled in United States dollars. Kraken positioned it as a first step in expanding the encryption option market, not just to compete for shares with existing platforms.
According to the company, most of the current trade in encrypted derivatives is concentrated in futures, etc., and the share in the options market remains small, dominated by a few platforms such as Deribit, Chiffon and Binance. As institutional funds continue to enter digital assets, exchanges and traditional financial institutions are accelerating the completion of derivative product lines.
Kraken claims that existing products are biased towards institutions
According to the company, encryption options are growing slowly and the problem is not entirely demand, but product design. The long-term service providers and marketers of existing platforms make it easier for ordinary users to move to more intuitive and sustainable contracts.
The contract, which Kraken launched this time, is linear, dollar-based, and users do not have to manage the encrypted asset collateral or the chain of treatment. Entitlements, gains and losses and maturities are denominated in United States dollars, and the entry points are consolidated into the cash and futures shared accounts.
The order book will be added and the area expanded.
The company disclosed that the option business would be followed by a public order book to improve price discovery and gradually expand the range of available areas and supported assets. Alexia Theodorou, the director of Kraken derivatives, stated that Europe was the next important course of expansion and that companies already had the required regulatory authorization to provide encrypted derivatives locally.
Kraken also stated that the uniform account default-enabled portfolio bond, that stowage positions between different products could reduce the need for collateral and that users could use more than 30 currencies as collateral. At the same time, companies have included educational tools such as watch-up, watch-down and multilegacy strategies in their trade interfaces in an attempt to lower the options use threshold.

Additional information:Kraken defined this go-live as the starting point for a rights-based business, and the subsequent expansion directions included open order books, more area coverage and additional asset support.
