Google DeepMind released three new Gemini models on Tuesday to update the focus on lower-cost, faster-responsive and more stable service capabilities for corporate clients who are deploying AI agents on a large scale. Gemini 3.5 Pro, an outside source of interest, has not yet been launched.
3.6 Flash's main downfall
Gemini 3.6 Flash has been identified by Google as the General Master Model. According to the company, the version had been upgraded in terms of programming, knowledge-type assignments and multi-modular performance, while token use could be reduced by up to 17 per cent, and thus prices were lower than those of the previous generation 3.5 Flash.
Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite emphasizes cost advantages. According to Google, this is a light version of a more price-sensitive scenario, with a continued focus on efficiency and speed of deployment.
Security model limits open
Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber is a dedicated version of this update, which is aimed primarily at cyber security missions. The model has been fine-tuned in a targeted manner to identify and repair security gaps and is currently open to government agencies and trusted partners only through limited piloting.
From a product orientation point of view, the Flash series continues to undertake low-cost, low-delayed production tasks that are suitable for large-scale calls; the Pro series are usually responsible for more complex reasoning and programming tasks and are therefore more market-oriented in their timing.
3.5 Pro continues to be absent
Gemini 3.5 Pro is still on the line. Google last updated Gemini Pro in February and later in May indicated that 3.5 Pro is already in-house and is scheduled to be launched the following month.
However, Bloomberg had previously reported that Google had experienced internal delays in advancing the release of 3.5 Pro because model performance had not met internal targets. At the same time, OpenAI has launched GPT-5.5 and started to go online gradually, and Anthropic has published Claude Opus 4.8, Claude Sonet 5 and expanded Fable 5 ' s openness.
Logan Kilpatrick, head of Google DeepMind products, stated on Tuesday that the company was currently testing Gemini 3.5 Pro with partners and hoped to land soon. He added that the team had initiated Gemini 4 the largest pre-training exercise to date.
