The largest bank in Israel, Leumi, announced plans to provide encrypted asset trading services to its clients in the Leumi Trade application, starting in early 2027. At that point, Leumi and his digital bank brand Pepper clients can buy, hold and sell bitcoin, Ether and Solana directly in their applications.
Services access bank applications
This arrangement means that the client will be able to complete the operation within the existing interface of the bank without having to jump to an independent encrypted trading platform. If launched as planned, Leumi will be the first Israeli bank to publicly announce that digital asset trading services are provided directly to domestic retail customers.
Galaxy Digital will provide the service with a trading infrastructure. According to both parties, Leumi will also use the Galaxy hosting system, the infrastructure previously known as GK8, to support the landing of the operation.
The first to support three tokens.
- Bitcoin (BTC)
- ETH
- Solana (SOL)
The article did not disclose details of the rates, the terms of commercial cooperation and the terms of access for clients. This means that, while the product has been declared in its direction, the specific use threshold and pricing are still not known.
Traditional banks continue to expand the encryption portal.
This cooperation also allowed Galaxy to obtain a bank partner in Israel. For Leumi, the placement of encrypted transactions in capital market-like applications demonstrates its desire to integrate digital assets into existing investment service systems rather than to turn customers to independent exchanges.
In terms of industry trends, an increasing number of financial institutions are trying to place encrypted asset entry into their own platforms. Banks usually wish to take on part of the transaction needs that originally flowed to encrypted original platforms, drawing on established compliance frameworks, customer relationships and hosting capabilities.
