According to foreign media reports, Yin Weida is negotiating an equity investment of up to $3 billion with SB Energy and OpenAI, the goal of which is to support OpenAI ' s large data centre project in Ohio, United States. In addition to direct investment, there are discussions about $100 billion in credit support arrangements.
Two steps forward.
Reports indicate that this investment could be completed in two phases. Following the signing of the project agreement, Young Weeda or about $1.5 billion was invested first; then, through the first public collection unit of the SB Energy project, it continued to invest about $1.5 billion. SB Energy allegedly had the earliest possibility of launching IPO in September, raising at least $5 billion.
This means that the role of Weeda is no longer simply to provide GPUs for data centres, but may also be directly involved in the design of project capital structures and to support subsequent computing needs through equity and financing.
Shortening of earlier-scale programmes
This Ohio project is much larger than the $3 billion investment currently disclosed. Prior to that, Weida had discussed the provision of up to $250 billion in financing guarantees for the project, but recent reports indicated that the idea had been revised downward and that the initial guarantee was expected to be less than $120 billion.

The adjusted programme might cover the first 5 Giwa data centre in the planning process before deciding whether to continue supporting the follow-up phase.
SB Energy continues to expand.
SB Energy has taken a more important place in the OpenAI infrastructure layout. Earlier this year, OpenAI agreed to invest $500 million in the company, respectively. At the same time, SB Energy was selected to build and operate a 1.2 Giva data centre in Texas, a project linked to the Stargate infrastructure plan of OpenAI.
SB Energy develops both large-scale energy projects and data centres. This combination of energy and room capacity is receiving increased attention in the context of AI’s competition for power and power resources.
Young Waida extends to capital finance
This potential trade also reflects the extension of the operational impact from chip sales to AI infrastructure finance. In collaboration with Apollo, Belet, Blackstone, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs and KKR, Weida recently promoted the AI capital-oriented financing platform, targeting over $500 billion.
With direct support for the construction of the data centre, it would, on the one hand, expedite the landing of downstream projects and, on the other, help to consolidate long-term demand for its hardware products. However, this model would also place companies at greater risk for the performance of the data centre project itself.
