Hegotá, the next major upgrade of the Ether Workshop, is in the process of screening proposals. The developers are currently reviewing 66 candidate programmes, many of which revolve around privacy capabilities, but the network itself does not yet have original privacy functions.
Only FOCIL confirmed inclusion
At this stage, FOCIL is the only proposal that has been determined to enter Hegotá. The rest of the programme is still under discussion and assessment, and whether or not to move on to an upgrade will depend on the decision of the subsequent core developers meeting.
Many proposals relate to privacy
Among the programmes being evaluated, EIP-8141, EIP-8250 and EIP-8272 were mentioned by name. The common thrust of these proposals is to provide more tools for privacy-type applications at the protocol level.
If the relevant programmes eventually move forward, privacy applications can in the future directly call for more bottom capacity without relying entirely on lower or peripheral design. However, as far as information is concerned, the proposals remain only candidates and have not yet been finalized.
The target time is 2027.
The developers will decide at the next meeting of the core developers which proposals will move forward. According to the current arrangement, Hegotá 's target time points to 2027.
Overall, the ITA community has begun to discuss more formally how privacy capacity enters the main protocol layer, but at this stage it is closer to directional confirmation rather than functionalization.
