Boeing was amended by a $636 million contract with the United States Army to extend air body maintenance guarantees for Apache helicopters. The total value of the contract thus increased to approximately $1.13 billion and the implementation period will continue until April 2029.
What contracts cover
This change relates mainly to logistical support for the Apache body parts. The scope includes systems components, specialized consumables, test equipment, obsolete spare parts management and supply chain support. Work will take place in Mesa, Arizona.
Military engineering orders continue to increase.
Boeing's defence operations have made further progress in the near future. On 14 August, the Pentagon announced that a framework agreement had been signed with Boeing and RTX, with the aim of increasing the production of standard missile-3 Block IIA and Block IB intercept components. These products are used in Zeus Shield ballistic missile defence systems.
Synchronization of financial and civil aviation operations
The increase in orders was accompanied by signs of improvement in the financial performance of Boeing. The company received $24.6 billion in the second quarter, free cash flows were $631 million and the backlog of orders reached a record of $715 billion. However, the company recorded a net loss of $428 million, in part because of the $280 million cost of the Air Force I replacement project.
Additional information:Boeing delivered 53 aircraft in July, down from 64 in June, but up from the same period last year. The United States Federal Aviation Administration also certified 737 MAX 7 with long delays earlier this month.
