Hegotá's proposal for the next major upgrade is being prepared by the developer of the Taifeng. A total of 66 changes are currently under discussion, and subsequent core developers meetings will determine what is going into the process of achievement and testing, with target release time pointing to 2027.

EIP-8141 rewrite transaction process

In this round of discussions, Frame Transports, EIP-8141, is one focus. The proposal would allow the account to define for itself how the transaction was approved, how it was executed and who paid the fees, rather than continue to follow the uniform default model.

If this change has landed, the wallet may support a more flexible interactive approach, such as a third-party payment of Gas, consolidation of multiple operations into a single payment or adjustment of the encryption scheme used for the signature of the transaction without changing the address.

Privacy applications reduce off-chain dependence

Currently, the private payment system in the Taifeng, while providing a cipher to hide some of the information, often depends on additional infrastructure when the transaction is truly chained. Some programmes also require relay services to submit transactions.

Developers are discussing the direction of putting some of their capabilities directly into the bottom of the Ether. If EIP-8141 is adopted, privacy applications may be less dependent on external services for authorization and cost processing, but ETH transfers between common addresses will remain as public as they are now.

Only FOCIL is currently authorized.

Frame Transports is still a candidate and has not been formally adopted. The developer then assesses which changes can be developed, tested and deployed within the established time frame.

To date, only one change in Hegotá has been approved, FOCIL. The proposal is related to resistance reviews and aims to reduce the control of single block builders over dealing with trade-offs.

In addition to privacy and resistance, other candidate proposals included increasing the speed of the block, adjusting the benefits of the certifier, and preparing for antiquator coding. The submission of the new proposal ended on 6 August and the final selection list will be decided at the subsequent core development meeting.
