The latest 8-K document submitted by Strategy shows that the company did not buy or sell bitcoin last week, ending the practice of disposing of bitcoin for weeks since June. It maintained 840,447 bitcoin holding warehouses at an average purchase cost of US$ 75,385 per unit.
$334 million in financing completed this week
The company disclosed that it raised approximately $334 million this week through the sale of MSTR shares. At the same time, Strategy increased the United States dollar reserve by $150 million and repurchased $132 million of STRC priority shares.
Bitcoin holds the same for now.
Since May, Strategy has cumulatively sold 6,948 bitcoins, cashing some $432.5 billion. In the meantime, 32 bitcoins were sold by the company for the first time since 2022, followed by several consecutive weeks in July and August.
Just the previous week, Strategy had sold 1,690 bitcoins and raised $108.6 million. The funds were subsequently used to repurchase the same priority shares that were covered by equity financing during the week.
The capital framework is still being implemented in June
These bitcoins were sold from a set of capital arrangements introduced by Strategy in June. Under this framework, companies can sell up to $1.25 billion in bitcoin to cover dividends, interest, stock buy-backs and replenishments.
- Approximately $429 million used
- Remaining available approximately $820 million
- We didn't use the sale last week.
The market value of the warehouse was lower than the accumulated cost
Strategy has not bought any bitcoin since June. The current market value of the company ' s warehouse, at the rate of approximately $63,500 a week in bitcoin, is approximately $53.4 billion, which is lower than its cumulative purchase cost of $63.36 billion, with a difference of approximately $9.9 billion.
From the point of view of disclosure, Strategy's recent focus remains the restructuring of the asset liability structure through equity financing and priority stock buy-back, rather than the continued increase in bitcoin.
Additional information:The company simultaneously disclosed that, as at 16 August, its dollar reserve was $4.8 billion.
