Hegotá, 2027, is being upgraded to the screening function by the developer. On August 17, Toni Wahrstätter, a researcher at the ETA Foundation, indicated that the protocol team wished to give priority to two changes: Frame Transports, which would restructure the transaction, and FOCIL, which would include a focus on the transaction.

The private pool can pay for itself, Gas.

The goal is to introduce programmable transaction formats that give wallets and applications more flexibility in controlling transaction validation, execution and Gas payments. The proposal envisages that the current more fixed transaction structure will be broken down into multiple programmable modules.

This design is particularly critical for the privacy pool. Under the existing model, such transactions often need to rely on relays to submit and pay on behalf of Gas, which may expose additional transaction details, wallet behaviour or network information. If the new format is put on the ground, the privacy pool itself can cover the costs and reduce reliance on third-party intermediaries.

This was accompanied by Keyed Nonces, Recent Roots and Transaction Issues. The first two correspond to the state of the stand-alone transaction sequence and the reference to the immediate chain, while the Asserves allow wallets to attach to the transaction the conditions of execution that must be met and limit possible changes after signature.

FOCIL has entered the promotion candidate

Compared to EIP-81411, FOCIL, EIP-7805, which is still under discussion, is currently the only function that has been identified as entering the Hegotá candidature. It is designed to be issued by the Certifying Commission on a list of transactions that should be included in the block, which the witness may reject if the builder of the block has unreasonably excluded the eligible transaction.

This mechanism targets the risk of review following the gradual concentration of block production. For privacy transactions, COCIL does not directly provide privacy protection, but can reduce the possibility of selective exclusion at the level of agreement. When combined with Frame Transports, the privacy pool can both pay for itself and be better integrated.

66 proposals are still being screened

At present, hegotá has a total of 66 proposals under discussion, covering the abstraction of accounts, resistance to censorship, transaction pricing, state growth, certificationer economic model and network expansion. This does not mean, however, that all programmes will enter the final version, and most proposals are not yet in the stage of realization, development or public testing.

Under the current arrangement, the developer will compare EIP-8141 with another account abstract scheme EIP-8130 on August 25 and try to move the decision forward at the core developer meeting on August 27. The executive client team is required to submit its own priority list for Hegotá by 10 September.

Hegotá will continue with the 2026 Glamsterdam upgrade. The focus of the latter includes the protocol ' s proposer-builder security, block-level access lists and network resource pricing adjustments, while Hegotá ' s discussions are further extending to privacy, resistance, abstract account and state management.
