Citi-flag disclosed that it was planned to go online with digital asset hosting services later in the year and that the first asset to be supported would be bitcoin. According to the company, this service, known as Custody+, will incorporate encrypted asset hosting into the existing framework and will allow institutional clients to manage traditional assets and bitcoin holding within the same system.
The first to support bitcoin.
Citicorp stated in a note issued on 18 August that Custody+ would provide near real-time and real-time service capacity to accommodate the trend of financial markets towards longer trading times and faster settlement. According to the company, the digital assets themselves had near-immediate settlement and 7x24 hours of operation, so that the new services would start with the bitcoin hosting.
Citi also indicated that the business was built on its unified digital asset architecture, with the objective of providing a “one-stop hosting experience”. In the future, customers can call on traditional asset hosting and encryption asset hosting capabilities within the same operating framework without having to be decentralized in different systems.
Host infrastructure upgraded first
Prior to the release of this arrangement, Citicorp just completed its deployment to the United States market. The technology is part of the Citi hosting infrastructure retrofit and focuses on increasing the speed and automation of events.
- More than 80% of the network's event-processing volume has been processed in real time.
- 92 per cent reduction in processing time for voluntary corporate action in the United States
- 96% of related incidents can be processed within 2 hours
From a business interface, Citicorp is trying to extend the real-time processing capability of the traditional hosting system to digital asset services. This also means that large banks are moving from the pilot and research phases to more specific product landings in terms of providing encrypted asset infrastructure to institutional clients.
The recent public statements are more positive.
In recent months, Citi ' s overt attitude towards the encryption industry has risen significantly. Just a week earlier, the Bank had also called on the United States Senate to push for a new encryption bill. Jane Fraser, Chief Executive Officer of Citigroup, also supported United States digital asset market structure legislation in an interview with Fox Business.
This hosting service plan shows that the flag is not only speaking at the policy level, but is also beginning to translate positions into specific operations. For institutional clients, the expansion of bank-level hosting services is often seen as a sign of further access to the Bitcoin market by traditional financial systems.
Additional information:The original Citi flag is referred to as the $2.8 trillion Asset Management Agency, but the body core information is focused on its bank hosting operations and digital asset service layout.
