Cypherpunk Technologies has launched a group of large-scale miners for Zcash. The company disclosed that the equipment was deployed in the United States and that the current operating capacity was approximately 4.2 GSol/s, estimated by the company to be about 18 per cent of Zcash ' s full network. It also means that the company, which was originally based on the accumulation of ZEC, began to extend its operations to the direct production of currency.
US$ 3.333 million in equity acquisitions
The acquisition of the mine was completed through an equity deal totalling $33.33 million, not cash payments. The trading instrument is an advance recognition certificate, corresponding to approximately 4.3.3 million Cyprus shares, with a price anchor of $0.77 per share.
Cypherpunk is supported by Winklevoss Capital. Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss indicated that the acquisition provided less visible Zcash mining openings for open market investors. Will McEvoy, the company ' s chief investment officer, stated that mining would be part of its privacy technology strategy and that the ZEC of the follow-on output could be used to continue expansion, increase the holding of coins and invest in new privacy technology projects.
We've reached 32.34 million ZECs.
The company disclosed that Cypherpunk is now the largest business ZEC holder, holding approximately 323,394, or 1.92 per cent of the supply in circulation. The goal is to increase this percentage to 5 per cent.
According to the company, the Zcash network currently has about 43,800 ZECs distributed to miners per month. Cypherpunk argued that self-building mining capacity could gain more ZECs at a cost lower than market prices, thus accelerating the advance of hold-up targets. At the same time, the company appointed Kevin Zhang, who had served in Foundry, to head the mining operation.
ZEC layout is increasing volatility
This mining expansion occurred after Cypherpunk experienced a clear wave of fluctuations around Zcash layout. The company had previously entered the market with a ZEC treasury strategy and had benefited from a rapid ZEC boom at the end of 2025. At the time, bitcoin was weak, and ZEC was on the run, and Zcash founder Zooko Wilcox joined the project at the end of last year.
However, this strategy is equally volatile. It was reported that the Cypherpunk stock price had fallen by almost 40 per cent as a result of a privacy loophole in Zcash, reflecting a high degree of corporate performance tied to a single, relatively limited-liquid asset.
Additional information:At the time of the release of the report, Zcash prices were slightly above $500 and had risen by about 7 per cent over the past seven days, but still fell by about 28 per cent above the point of close to $700 last year.
