Pi Network disclosed that its equipment node network had completed its first operational distributed computing test. The scale of the test was small, but it meant that the long-standing computing network concept of the project began to move from concept to actual validation.

End-to-end testing completed at 5 nodes

According to the company, the test involved 5 volunteer nodal operators. The system automatically assigns computing tasks to the equipment and returns the results when the nodes are processed, without the need for manual step-by-step intervention. According to the company, full run has been achieved in the distribution, execution and reporting of the results.

The focus of the test was not to prove that the network already had a large commercial capacity, but to verify whether the underlying process had been established. For Pi Network, this means that its nodal network, in addition to supporting the original block chain, begins to try to take over an external computing task.

Node 0.6.2 Synchronize developer function

Pi Network also indicated that Node version 0.6.2 also adjusted the application testing and distribution process. Developers can now test undisclosed applications in private before deciding whether to go online.

In addition, the platform repaired an application status display problem. The previous interface may have given rise to a situation in which the status information was inaccurate, and the updated developer could better track the current progress of the application. The platform also adds mcp-atlassian and OpenClaw to the selected list.

420,000 nodes still to be validated on a larger scale

According to the company, Pi Network currently operates over 420,000 nodes globally. Previously, most of these nodes were used to support the project ' s own block chain operations.

If these idle calculators can be deployed for external tasks in the future, Pi Network will no longer be confined to the chain infrastructure but will extend to a decentrified computing network. This path is similar to some of the distributed computing items that attempt to replace the central cloudization service.

However, the company also defined the result as a proof of concept rather than of large-scale capacity. The current test covers only 5 nodes, and future stability within hundreds of thousands of nodes remains dependent on subsequent engineering expansion and network reliability.
