The Coinbase 2nd-tier network has launched a new phase of the entrepreneurship acceleration plan, which is clearly narrow to AI agents, transactions, payments and financing products. The project was scheduled to select 10 companies from an early team, each of which would receive $100,000 in investment from Base Ecosystem Fund and enter an eight-week online acceleration phase.

Applications as at 9 September

Base indicated that the current project, called Batches 004, would be open until 9 September and would eventually be held in Demo Day, New York, in November. In contrast to earlier, broader recruitment patterns, the issue focused more on small-scale, targeted screening, with the goal of selecting a small number of high-quality teams to provide deeper product and ecological support.

The head of the Base EcoFoundation, Daniel Bronheim, stated that the team wanted to focus its resources on the more signal entrepreneurs, rather than continuing with a large, cross-cutting, batch model.

Focus on the payment to AI Agent and Stability Currency

This recruitment is aimed at pre-seed entrepreneurship teams, focusing on several types of products: AI agents, trade instruments, payment services and financing infrastructure. In particular, Base referred to the welcome use of stable currency for the completion of agency shopping, brokering and agent-paid products, including loans, electricians and decentrized AI-related infrastructure.

One of the requirements of Base is that the project can support multiple block chains, but Base must be the main network. In addition to the encoded original team, Base also wants to attract the founders of financial technology to bring more new financial products into its chain of ecology.

Funding and ecological resources available to selected teams

In addition to the $100,000 investment, the selected team will be supported by an exclusive consultant and weekly mentoring, and will be given more exposure within the Base ecology. At the end of the project, the teams will also focus on the investors.

Coinbase continues to advance AI's financial capacity.

The scheme also reflects Coinbase's accelerating the integration of AI agents and chain payments. In February, Coinbase launched Actic Wallets on Base, allowing AI agents to hold USDC and complete payment through x402. In June, Coinbase launched Coinbase for Agencies to connect AI agents directly to user accounts.

In addition to Coinbase, encryption companies like MoonPay are developing products that allow AI agents to hold and dispose of funds. Base argues that if AI agents start to take on more purchases, payments and transactions, the block chain could become the bottom financial channel for such activities, in which stable currency and programmable payments would be central.
