Pembo quoted sources as saying that SpaceX, under the flag of Mask, had attempted to acquire Cognition, an AI programming company. However, shortly after the release of the report, CEO Cognion Scott Wu denied this statement on X, stating that the content was inaccurate, that the company was not sold and that the parties had not negotiated it.

The takeover was denied.

Before the news came, SpaceX had just completed a $60 billion acquisition of another AI programming company, Cursor. Before that, SpaceX had also acquired Mask's XAI company earlier this year and completed its listing in June, at a market value of nearly US$ 2.3 trillion. The continuous action around AI shows SpaceX is accelerating the enhancement of its artificial intelligence business.

AI programming becomes the focus of expansion

In Mask's layout, AI programming is considered one of the clearer commercial directions. Business clients are willing to pay for code generation, automated development and proxy assignments, which also makes the relevant start-up companies a competition for large technology and modelling companies.

It was mentioned that after Cursor was included in SpaceX, the two sides had begun to work together to advance the product. This month, Cursor and SpaceX jointly released Grok 4.6, the lead programmer and complex multi-step proxy capacity. If you take down Cognition and its Devin products, SpaceX will expand its coverage in the AI programming market.

Cognition continues to advance financing

Cognition is still one of the few large AI software programming companies that remain independent. The company completed $1 billion in financing at the end of May, with a post-investment valuation of $25 billion. According to Bloomberg, Cognition is still in preliminary contact on a new round of financing, with a target value of approximately $40 billion.

Pembo also stated that while the acquisition negotiations were no longer advanced, the two sides were still discussing the possibility of cooperation, including Cognition using SpaceX ' s computing resources. Scott Wu did not respond directly to this when he denied the takeover.

Additional information:Mask said to his staff last week that in the next four to five years, AI could contribute most of SpaceX's value. For this company, corporate-level AI tools and calculator sales are becoming a new revenue orientation.
