Weymo's new-generation Robotaxi is open to passengers in the three cities

Waymo has opened a new generation of auto-driving taxis to all passengers in Los Angeles, Phoenix and San Francisco. This step not only means that the new model is beginning to enter a large-scale receipt phase, but also shows that it is trying to expand its commercial fleet with lower-cost vehicles.

In these three markets, users may be assigned to Ojai when they call for a car. Waymo indicates that when the number of new vehicles increases further, passengers will be able to choose between Ojai and the existing Jaguar I-Pace.

According to the Waymo spokesperson, there are currently some 300 Ojai in the commercial convoy. The company also plans to put the car in Denver, Las Vegas and San Diego later this year.

Over the past few years, the Robotaxi convoy of Waymo has relied mainly on the converted pure power of Jaguar I-Pace. The model has been operational in 11 cities in the United States, but more like the Waymo transition to large-scale commercialization.

Ojai carries the Wayne 6th Generation Autopilot system, which is modular and suitable for various models. The re-engineered interface was added to the car, as well as the Gemini AI car-loading assistant from Google.

However, the current high import tariffs imposed by the United States on Chinese-made cars also raise the cost of a bicycle introduced by Waymo to Ojai. When the basic vehicles arrive in the United States, they will be sent to the Wymo factory in Arizona, where the autopilot system will be installed.

The speed of import shows a speed of expansion.

By tracking shipping documents, the New York research institute MoffettNathanson estimates that Waymo is expected to bring 5,000 Ojai to the United States by the end of 2026, twice its current Jaguar fleet.

The agency also stated that 725 Ojai had entered the United States in July alone, indicating that Waymo was accelerating the renewal and delivery of the motorcade.
