The CEO of Robinhod, Vlad Teneve, said that the “Trump Account” launched by the Trump government this year would initially simplify investment options as much as possible, with the core product being the low rate of tracking the 500 index ETF. The account was set up for children and the Government hoped to promote long-term investment.

Initial default product is 500

In an interview with CNBC, Tenev stated that the platform currently provided a standard 500 ETF from the Global Investment Management of Dowell. The design was designed to make the stock market more accessible to United States families from the birth of their children and to generate compound gains through long-term holdings.

At the same time, he mentioned that the range of products available for the account could be expanded over the coming period, but that at this stage the main starting point would be Standard 500. According to him, the index could provide a decentralized configuration of large United States listed companies.

There is a clear division of labour between the Ministry of Finance and institutions

In April this year, the United States Department of the Treasury designated Melon Bank, New York, as the financial agent for the project, to support the promotion of accounts. Robinwood, who works with it, acts as an official broker and participates in account implementation and investment access.

The account was officially launched on 4 July. According to the previous arrangement of the Ministry of Finance, the account of a child born between 2025 and 2028 will receive $1,000 from the Government.

Additional low-rate index funds will be opened in follow-up

A note issued by the Ministry of Finance on 1 July indicated that the associated ETF for Dofu would be the default product for all Trump accounts. At the same time, the Ministry of Finance has also selected an additional 4 low-rate index ETF to be configured by parents and guardians after subsequent opening.

  • iShares Core S&P 500 ETF
  • Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF
  • SPDR Portfolio S&P 1500 Company Stock Market ETF

The Ministry of Finance has indicated that these additional products will be on line in the coming months, when parents and guardians can allocate funds to funds other than the default product.

Business and private funds are also involved.

The Trump Government had previously encouraged United States enterprises to contribute to their employees' children. Companies such as Goldman Sachs, American Light, Bank of America and Beled are already involved in the arrangement.

In addition to enterprises, some private donors have joined. According to the report, the President of SpaceX, Gwenny Shortwell, and her husband donated SpaceX shares, while Dale's CEO, Michael Dale, and his wife, Susan, contributed a total of $2.6 billion.
