AMTRA suspended the entire Layer 1 network after it discovered an attack attempt against software weaknesses. Access to the chain, block production and public network was completely frozen, and the original currency OM then fell rapidly and touched on a new low in history.
Hole point to Cosmos EVM module
The projector indicated that the incident was related to its Cosmos EVM module and affected the two wallet addresses. The team stated that the root causes of the problem had been identified and that current risks had been contained. At the same time, AMTRA indicated that no user funds had been found to have been used.
The shutdown was used as a preventive measure and the developers are testing the rehabilitation programme. A few days before the incident, a major EVM interface was upgraded on August 18, and this was one of the priorities of the follow-up check.
Patch is ready for certification test
The development team stated that the security patch was ready to be completed but that the network would not be restored before the end of the test. MANTRA states that if testing and coordination progresses well, the main network may be restarted during the day, although it still depends on the co-operation of independent certifiers.
The team also stated that it was working with external security partners to examine the incident to ascertain whether there were other risks. Once the network has been restored, the project will issue a full ex post analysis report.
Exchange paused, OM fell over 18%.
Many exchanges have suspended OM ' s filling and cashing as a result of the disconnection. MANTRA states that the exchange and ecological partners have been required to continue to suspend the chain until the problem is resolved.
On the price side, OM fell by about 18.5 per cent after the news of the shutdown and at one point to $0.004126, a record low. Prices have since recovered, and the data in the paper show an tentatively stated amount of $0.004714.
MANTRA also reminds users not to believe in so-called “assets restoration assistance” or non-official currency web links in order to prevent people from being used to commit fraud in the context of chain-breaking incidents.
