Flowra announced an open-order-flow auction (OOA) in Solana in an attempt to convert the more centralized MEV transactions into open bidding. As designed, searchers can seek trade access to blocks through transparent offers, while certifiers have the opportunity to gain more space revenue from blocks.
Open bid for Solana
At the heart of the system is the creation of an open market for Solana block space. Flowra states that in the past, the flow of orders was more dependent on the distribution of the order through closed channels, and that public auctions helped to improve price discovery and allowed the certificationer to share more directly the value generated by MEV.
According to the company, this line of thinking draws on the model of competitive block construction that has emerged in the past few years. The judgement is that Solana ' s high-input and low-delayed structures also have the conditions to carry a similar competitive mechanism.
Early testing gives preliminary data
Flowra disclosed that early testing was based on a single certifier environment. After the introduction of its programme, the computing unit for each block was increased by 20.6 per cent, and the performance of the certifier also rose from 84 per cent of the network average to 101 per cent.
- 20.6 per cent
- Verifier performance increased from 84% to 101%.
- 99.99 per cent online.
The company also stated that block handling charges were higher than comparable certifier software during the testing period and 100 per cent of block productivity was achieved. However, the results are still from early testing and have not yet been validated through a wider network-wide deployment.
A certifier can set an inclusion policy
In addition to the auction mechanism, Flowra has launched a programmable block strategy. This feature allows the certifier to set its own transactions for inclusion in the policy at the block build without the need to modify the Solana bottom-up protocol.
According to the company, this design would enhance operational flexibility and facilitate the fulfilment of some regulatory or institutional compliance requirements. Before that, Flowra had announced that it would work with the compliance infrastructure provider, Honeypot, to introduce sanctions screening and risk review capabilities to that level.
Promote it first to institutional certifying officers
Flowra is currently giving priority to the participation of institutional-level certifiers in this open-order-flow auction and plans to gradually expand its coverage as Solana ecological participants increase. The company has not disclosed how many certifiers or searchers have access to the system at present.
Whether this mechanism will change Solana ' s block to build the market will depend on the use of the certifiers and searchers. Flowra stated that its objective was to improve transparency of transactions, value distribution and the matching of incentives between the certifying, user and builder.
