The RLUSD market value of the Ripple Stable Currency has exceeded $2 billion. This progress shows that RLUSD has expanded more rapidly since its launch in December 2024, and has further increased Ripple's position in the dollar-stable currency market.
Compliance structures support expansion
RLUSD is supported by cash and cash equivalent reserves in United States dollars with the objective of maintaining an anchor with the United States dollar at 1:1. Ripple states that the stocks are segregated and certified on a monthly basis by United States certified accountants.
The article mentions that RLUSD is regulated by the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS). As the United States stable currency regulatory framework becomes clear, compliance and transparency are becoming more important conditions for agencies to adopt such products.
United States rules push down.
The United States GENIUS Act is in the implementation phase. The bill aims to establish a federal-level regulatory framework for the payment of stable coins, and the United States Treasury Department is currently setting 18 January 2027 as the target date for the entry into force of the rules.
Clearer regulatory arrangements could increase the acceptance of the United States dollar-stable currency by banks, financial institutions and large enterprises. For Ripple, it also provides a more favourable external environment for RLSD clients.
XRPL synchronous increase in liquidity
In addition to the increase in market value, the expansion of the RLSD is also increasing the United States dollar liquidity on XRP Ledger. According to the report, the XRP Ledger went to centralize the sole node list certifier, Vet, which is currently in circulation on XRPL for almost $1 billion.
This means that payments, transactions, mortgages and monetization of assets on the network are likely to receive more United States dollar-denominated liquidity support. For XRP holders, the way to obtain United States dollar liquidity without directly selling XRP is also increased.
Cross-chain Layout Extension to DeFi
Currently, RLUSD is not only deployed in XRP Ledger, but has also entered a network of block chains such as the Etheraf. Ripple can thus extend the stable currency infrastructure to more ecology to cover, settle, manage liquidity, monetize and deFi scenarios.
For example, Flare has supported XRP holders to borrow RLUSD on the Ether Workshop under FXRP as collateral. This type of design connects XRP-related mobility to the wider DeFi market and expands the use of RLUSD.
On the whole, RLUD growth is not just an expansion of supply. Its compliance framework, cross-chain distribution and institutional positioning are moving the product to the core of the wider Ripple stabilization strategy.
