Company disclosures revealed that the Bitmine Immmension Technologies purchased another 32,447 ETHs last week, amounting to approximately US$ 81.45 million at current prices. As of August 23rd, the company ' s ETA warehouse had risen to 5,847,611 at a market value of about $15 billion, continuing to approach its own 5% supply target.

We're still 187,000 short of the 5% target.

According to the report, the current supply of the Taifeng is about 120.7 million, with 5 per cent corresponding to about 6.04 million ETH. Based on the available hold in Bitmine, the company is still about 187,000 ETHs from this target.

Bitmine's increase started last summer. The company held up about 1% of the supply at the Taifeng in August last year, rising to 2% in September. By March 2026, it had held more than 4.66 million ETH, rising to more than 5.2 million in May and approaching 5.79 million at the end of July.

87 per cent of the hold is used for pledge

The company disclosed that 5,067,309 ETH had been used as pledge, accounting for approximately 87 per cent of the total hold. This means that most of its hold is locked in a pledge system and not in an active market.

Bitmine anticipates that this portion of the pledged assets could result in an annual pledge income of approximately $330 million. The report also mentions that the company did not indicate whether it would stop buying after reaching the 5 per cent target.

The ETH week-by-week increase is over a year high.

This latest purchase took place during the ETH surge. Reports indicate that since 19 August 2026, ETH has grown by about 31 per cent, the largest single week increase in the following year.

Tom Lee, chairman of the company, stated that the easing of the financial environment, White House support for the encryption industry and the buy-in of long-term national debt by the United States Treasury had contributed to a rise in market risk preferences. He added that the historical ETH week-by-week period had increased by more than 30 per cent, often before the start of the larger situation.

Additional information:It was mentioned in the report that Bitmine had previously stated that holding up to 5 per cent of the total ETA would not change the network or give the company control over transactions, upgrades or governance.
