HYPE came back after a record high, and the market will soon be unlocked in large amounts. According to Tokenomics.com tracking data, Hyperliquid will release 14,175,778 HYPEs on 29 August, at approximately $1.2 billion in current prices.
This was about 1.4 per cent of the total supply, equivalent to 2.7 per cent of the current market value of HYPE. The CoinGecko data show that on Sundays, the HYPE rose to US$ 83.27 and then returned to the vicinity of US$ 77.50, with a current market value of approximately US$ 19.5 billion.
Nearly half of it went to early investors.
Since November 2024, Hyperliquid has released on a fixed schedule a part of a total of 1 billion tokens per month. This time, on 29 August, it will be the fourth consecutive month of allocating tokens to three objects, namely, communities, foundations and insiders.
- Internals 46.6%
- Community access 46.3 per cent
- Hyper Foundation receives 7%
Among them, the insiders are mainly early investors and are the most concerned segments of the market. At current prices, this part of the new flow to the insiders is estimated at $560 million.
There's not a consistent pattern of unlocking.
Unlocking tokens does not necessarily lead to price declines, but increases the volume of tradables. If the recipient chooses to sell, the market is under additional pressure.
From the last few times, the HYPE movement was not consistent. The historical data of Tokenomics.com show that within days of May's unlocking, HYPE fell by 14.1 per cent; July by 7 per cent; June by 1 per cent.
Thus, the market is more concerned not with unlocking itself, but with to whom the new supply ultimately goes. Early investors and early contributors usually have lower warehouse costs than community incentive pools, which can more easily trigger profit expectations.
Coinbase access to the U.S. statement of warming
In addition to token prices, Hyperliquid has also recently received attention for operational progress. Coinbase has this month adopted the Hyperliquid infrastructure to add a 50% perpetuity contract transaction function to the Base application, which further moves the agreement into a more mainstream trading landscape.
Another source of market interest came from the United States policy level. US President Trump spoke directly to Hyperliquid last week in an interview with the media before he closed his door to the encryption executive, and stated that the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission was facilitating its “full compliance and legal” access to the US market.
At present, the decentrization contract platform continues to impose geographical restrictions on United States users. At the end of August, as the HYPE approaches historical heights, this large-scale unlocking will become the next most direct observation point for the market, and the next one of the same size will arrive on September 29.
