OpenAI is further developing its original development-oriented and technology-based smart-body capabilities to a broader office landscape. In an interview with TechCrunch, Company Core Product Manager Thibalt Sottiaux stated that ChatGPT Work was aimed at enabling white-collar users to directly call AI to handle complex tasks without having to have programming background.

He described his responsibility for the core product lines of OpenAI, including API, smart infrastructure, business operations, ChatGPT and Codex. According to him, the point of departure for ChatGPT Work was to repackage previously validated capabilities in programming tools into more user-friendly products and to cover a wider range of portals, such as page end, mobile end, etc.

Incorporated in Plus Subscription System

Sottiaux states that OpenAI wishes to maximize the coverage of such capabilities, and therefore ChatGPT Work is included in the $20-a-month Plus subscription scheme. Companies judge that they will be willing to pay for such services only if the user continues to feel clear value.

OpenAI reports that 20 million users have been reached.

Turning to market acceptance, Sottiaux states that OpenAI believes that users are ready to accept more autonomous AI tools. He mentioned that the company had just announced that the number of ChatGPT Work users had reached 20 million, which was seen as a sign of rapid product expansion.

He also indicated that OpenAI wished to reduce the number of complex interface designs and to place more work on the model itself. In comparison to product routes that require frequent user clicks and configuration of parameters, companies prefer a more concise and interactive approach, allowing users to carry out their tasks directly through natural languages and even voice.

More emphasis on complex office tasks

In terms of product capacity, Sottiaux said that OpenAI would continuously reorient the product according to the actual performance of the model. He referred to the process as “discovery” development, in which he looked at what the model was doing better and organized its product experience around those competencies.

He cited GPT 5.6 as an example of a significant upgrading in common office tasks, including the processing of a large number of documents, the generation of presentations, the preparation of reports and in-depth studies. These capabilities will then be further integrated into the product and will continue to evolve through real user feedback.

Cost remains the driving focus

In response to external concerns about the cost of use, Sottiaux states that OpenAI is continuing to advance model efficiency optimization. He mentioned that the company had previously announced an 80 per cent reduction in the prices associated with Luna and stated that front-line capacity would become cheaper over time.

On the issue of rights and privacy, he indicated that security remained the focus of company input as products accessed services such as e-mail and iMessage. OpenAI is in the process of strengthening the security system and making the results of the relevant benchmark tests available on an ongoing basis.
