Gamma has acquired the design start-up company Lica, supported by Accel, and plans to include the latter ' s team in its own design research department. The two co-founders will be responsible for this work.
Lica was founded in 2023 and initially used as a tool to translate the screens and videos into project presentations and videos. The company financed $4 million in 2024, including Accel, South Park Commons and Villa Global. Lica then turned to the production of brand-compliant marketing videos for the electrician website.

Gamma is still focusing on presentation tools, but also beginning to provide image generation. The company indicated that the new research sector would explore more forms of communication, including more fluid multimodular presentations and other visual expressions.
The co-founder of Lica, Priyaa Kalyanaraman, said that both sides wanted visual communication to be easier to use. She said that Gamma was better able to distribute, with products reaching more than 100 million users, while Lica was more concerned with front-line research. The acquisition was eventually facilitated by the establishment of links between the parties in the common context of Accel and South Park Commons.
Both bet on AI communication tools.
Gamma CEO Lee Grant stated that the company wanted to redefine the presentation format to bring pictures, interactions and content closer to future use. The Lica co-founder, Purvanshi Mehta, said that the new team would look at how the AI model could be more appropriate to different audiences and aesthetic preferences, generating more appropriate presentations and communication.
This transaction also reflects the acceleration of the integration of the AI demonstration track. Over the past few years, Precent financed $50 million and Gamma financed $68 million, with a valuation of $2.1 billion. OpenAI also acquired NextSlide earlier this month.
